![]() Pawlowski talked to Joe just last week about his desire to continue his schooling during one of their occasional conversations. This opportunity was possible because the high school buys its woodworking supplies from Hingham Lumber. Pawlowski was pleased to be able to keep in touch with Joe even after he graduated. "Joe was a wonderful young man - a pleasure to have in class. "This is a sad day," said Paul Pawlowski, Zona's Hingham High woodworking teacher. ![]() He eventually earned a brown belt, which made him proud. Joe played youth soccer for a short time during his earlier years until he realized karate was for him. "They spent a lot of time in our woodshop, and they built a great skate jump that he and his brother loved." "Joe loved his tools and enjoyed working with them using the trades he learned from his father," his mother said. Joe will always remain a part of my life through the memories and love of his friends and family." He was a great guy - truly loved by everyone he knew. Mallory Brady, a close friend of Joe and his girlfriend, Stephanie Jones, recalls: "Joe always welcomed me with open arms. When Petunia had babies, Joe and Jason, along with their neighbors Emily and Audrey Banks, who his mother said were like sisters to Joe, were there to help out with the delivery. His favorite animal was Petunia, the big pink pig." "They collected eggs from the chicken coop and played with the baby rabbits and the bantam roosters. "They spent many of their growing up days at Weir River Farm ," she recalled. She recalls the time he spent as a young boy with his brother, Jason, and Paul Wuori, his best friend since kindergarten. "He had a zest for life and loved his family, friends, and co-workers at Hingham Lumber, where he worked since he was 16." "Joe was truly loved by everyone who knew him," his mother, Karen, said. He was a 2001 Hingham High School graduate. ![]() Joe's life took a tragic turn Sunday when his motorcycle was involved in a crash that claimed his life. He was also fun-loving, tender-hearted, and smart - a pleasure to be around. Joseph "Joe" Zona IV had a great smile and the ability to get along with everyone.
